Pattaya Polution Smog Fog Mog

Right now air polution is taking over Pattaya. Thick smog from where? It is a mystery that I’m sure the officials will want to keep a secret. Why? Hey it is tourist season  and Pattaya needs as many falangs with bulging wallets as it can fit in. Pattaya, the entertainment mecca of Thailand or maybe the globe, is fading away.

What is happening? Why is Pattaya sinking in the fog or smog? The smog is already claiming its victims.

In order to avoid an  asthma attack a friend of mine jumped in his car and motored off to Cha-Am. Cha-Am  is at the other side of the gulf directly opposite Pattaya but a great distance away. Heck I wish I could do the same. Now this Pattaya polution has given me a cough with an itchy throat.

Every falang I have spoken to in the last few days is feeling irritated by this silent enemy. Every breath I take I can feel it. The Thais call it MOG (fog). What is it, fog or smog? I think it’s smog. Air pollution by a mixture of smoke and fog. Here are some photos of this dreaded lurgy.

What is causing this smog? One theory is that the northern wind is carrying particulate from Bangkok and dumping it into this huge cloud that is engulfing poor Pattaya. Go take a look at the Pattaya pollution and  smog before Pattaya disapears completly. Please make a comment below.
